CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Our classic filigree rug design reminds us of Mediterranean wrought iron patterns. Colorful mingled threads give this easy-care, reversible rug a Bohemian vibe. Durable enough for outdoors on a porch, or in the living room, entry, bedroom or dining room.
Q : Will this rug stand up to a dog that loves to dig and scratch?
A : The rug is made from 100% polypropylene, which is quite durable and resistant to claws and wear. Because it is flat‑woven and only 0.19 inches thick, it can handle light digging but heavier burrowing may cause some damage over time. Using a rug pad can help protect the floor and reduce friction against the dog’s paws. If you have a very active dog, rotate the rug regularly and keep an eye on any loose threads.
Q : How often do i need to vacuum and can i use a standard vacuum?
A : Vacuum the rug once a week, especially in high‑traffic areas, to keep debris from grinding into the fibers. A brushless vacuum or one with a low‑suction setting works best; avoid a power‑vacuum that can pull the fibers flat. Spot‑clean spills promptly to prevent staining and wear. Over time, regular vacuuming will keep the rug looking fresh.
Q : Can i wash it in my regular washing machine and how many washes will it last?
A : Yes, you can machine wash this rug in a front‑loading washer using cool water (max 85°F) and a mild, non‑bleach detergent. Use a gentle cycle and make sure the rug isn’t overloaded. Avoid fabric softener or bleach, as these can damage the fibers. After each wash, hang it to air dry; the rug may shrink up to 3%, so a rug pad is recommended to maintain shape. With proper care, it can be washed many times without significant loss of quality.
Q : Does the rug shed or lose threads after a few months?
A : Polypropylene rugs are designed to be low‑shed; you won’t notice loose fibers after a few months. However, heavy foot traffic or rough surfaces can gradually loosen small strands. If you notice any loose threads, spot‑clean the area and consider rotating the rug to even out wear.
Q : Will it be comfortable on my hardwood floor during winter?
A : The flat‑woven construction provides a smooth feel underfoot that is comfortable on hardwood. Because the rug is only 0.19 inches thick, it won’t add a significant cushion, but it will protect the floor from scratches and heat. If you want extra softness, you can lay a thin rug pad underneath, especially in colder months.
Q : Is it a good choice for a high‑traffic entryway with a lot of shoes?
A : Yes, the polypropylene material is robust and can handle high foot traffic, but using a rug pad is important to prevent wear against the floor and to keep the rug from slipping. Regular vacuuming and occasional spot cleaning will help maintain its appearance. Rotating the rug every few months also spreads wear evenly.
Q : Where is the best room to place this reversible rug for aesthetic balance?
A : Both terracotta and cream sides give you flexibility. If you want a warm, Mediterranean vibe, use the terracotta side in a living or dining room. For a lighter, more neutral feel, the cream side works well in bedrooms or entryways. The reversible design lets you switch sides to match changing décor or seasonal colors.
Q : Will the terracotta side fade when exposed to sunlight over time?
A : Direct, continuous sunlight can cause gradual color fading on both sides of the rug. To preserve the colors, avoid placing it in spots that receive strong, steady sunlight. Rotating the rug periodically and keeping it out of direct sun will help keep the shades vibrant for longer.
